I seem to have become obsessed with shells, it all started as I wanted to re-use the stunning Oyster shells that I have been saving from fishy suppers . These fantastic Oysters are grown sustainably in the Scottish Highlands by Suscrans.
I have now started thinking about creating a grotto seat at Amisfield Walled Garden where I volunteer using Scottish shells so watch this space!
I also wanted a smaller project and have decoupaged and gilded some for sale. Each shell is inherently different, barnacles on the underside add even more charm to the convoluted shapes, the gilding highlights the delicate edge and adds a rich Rococo flourish.
I will be adding a selection of these for sale soon and have already been asked to run a workshop in the future, let me know if you want to be added to the list!
